Are you eligible to receive a PCR test? Patients must meet the eligibility criteria listed below in order to qualify for a test at our Pharmacy.
*** NEW PROVINCIAL COVERAGE FOR PCR TESTING *** (Effective April 12, 2022)
Symptomatic people who are higher risk for severe COVID-19 who:
- are Immunocompromised
- are 70 year or older
- are 60 year or older and have less than 3 COVID-19 vaccinations (of any kind)
- are 18 year or older, have less than 3 COVID-19 vaccinations (of any kind) and at least one risk condition (see below)
List of conditions include:
Diabetes, Obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m2), Heart Disease, Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure, Kidney disease, Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Respiratory disease, Pregnancy, Liver Disease, Sickle Cell Disease or Developmental Disease
Symptomatic people who are:
- Health Care Workers
- Staff, volunteers and/or workers in hospitals, long term care homes, retirement homes, elder care lodges, group homes
- Household members of workers in the above category
- Temporary foreign workers living in congregate settings
- Pregnant
- Homeless
- First Responders including fire, police and paramedics
- Elementary and secondary students and staff who have received a PCR self-collection kit through their school
Symptomatic or Asymptomatic people who are:
- From First Nation, Inuit and Metis communities, and individuals who travel to work in these communities
- Close contacts of an outbreak as deemed by Public Health and granted an outbreak case number
- Receiving a scheduled surgery in a hospital (24-48 hours before surgery)
- Receiving cancer treatments (24-48 hours before treatment)
